Hello Everyone,

If you haven’t already, better get ready to tighten up your belts!  Gasoline/Diesel prices keep going up and that means everything else we need and use keep going up!  And what is the current administration in Washington doing to help us working Americans?  NOTHING!  It’s like they’re intent on keeping money flowing to Iraq and we’re paying for it.

Now, I’m all for keeping our brave fighting men and women supplied with the very best, but when will they be coming home?  And once they do come home, what are they coming home to?  The adminstration has woefully neglected these brave Americans with barracks that are run down and these brave military men and women deserve and expect the benefits they are entitled to such as education and medical.  Where in the heck has our tax money been spent on?

I don’t know about you, but I thought a percentage of my and your tax money was supposed to be set aside to provide these and many other benefits for our military personel but instead the families of these military men and women have to buy supplies and items for their loved ones overseas?  This is unacceptable!  I hereby call for a congressional hearing to look into these matters!  (Oh, wait a minute, I’m not a member of congress…and what am I thinking…Congress isn’t going to do a darn thing anyway!)

Enough is enough!  While we’re paying out the nose for gas/diesel and everything else, congress and the administration goes right on doing what they want to do.  We need to educate ourselves in regards to what the presidential candidates stand for. 

So, as we continue to wait for the general election in November, lets educate ourselves, and before we loose our pants, we better tighten up our belts!

Hello everyone,

It’s been about a month since I blogged…I’ve been suffering from gasoline shock!  What in the world is going on!?  Big Oil is sticking it to the working people of America again and guess what…they’re going to get away with it AGAIN!

At a time when Big Oil is announcing huge profits and us working folks are starting to get our tiny Economic Stimulus checks, what happens?  Everything we need sees a sudden price increase!

Now, I don’t have any proof of what I’m about to say, but I would guess that the ink wasn’t dry on the Economic Stimulus bill President Bush signed, when everybody from Big Oil to Wall Street insiders were trying to figure out how THEY were going to get OUR Economic Stimulus checks!

Come on people, can’t us working folks get ahead…alittle?  When it costs an average American anywhere from $50.00 to $100.00 a month more to fill up their vehicles with gasoline and many Independent Truckers are parking their rigs because they can’t afford diesel, there is something tragic going on in America.

Oh, Hillary says if she becomes president she’ll call for an investigation into Big Oil…sorry Hillary, it’s been done before and nothing happened.  Obama just doesn’t get the problem at all…after all neither of them has been spotted filling up their vehicles with self-serve.  And John McCain did come up with a plan to give the American people a fuel tax holiday from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but it ain’t going to happen.  (Hillary copied McCain’s suggestion but wanted Big Oil to pay the fuel tax from their profits…what world did she wake up in that day?)

Folks, America is in a dire economic time but we will come out of it.  After all, we always have in the past.  But don’t look for $2.80 a gallon gas prices again!  Big Oil is shooting for $4.00 a gallon as a BASE price and guess what…..they’re going to get it and we’re going to get stuck with it!

Wow!  What a week it’s been!  We started our podcasting on this website Monday April 1st and already it’s been a success.  I’ve recieved numerous emails about the podcast and it’s been downloaded over 30 times!  Many thanks to all of you who’ve checked the podcast out and for those of you who haven’t I invite you to do so in the picture gallery.  Just click on the podcast link and give a listen.

We also found out that this website and the radio show was mentioned honorably at the Mid-American Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky. and we thank the folks there for that.

We got alot coming up on the radio show so I invite you to join me on WXCC 96.5 weeknights because some great guests are currently being lined up to be on.

Hello Everyone,

Man oh Man it’s getting UGLY!  The democrats are really going at each other.  I don’t know about you, but are Hillary and Obama talking about the topics close to us, working Americans, or are they too busy bashing each other?

I’ve been listening as closely as I can, and so help me, I haven’t really heard any hardcore solutions to the problems of high gasoline/diesel prices, high grocery prices, the mortgage meltdown, the economy in general, homeland security, outsourcing of American jobs, Border Security, etc.

All I’ve been able to catch is about Obama’s former pastor and Hillary’s apparent memory loss regarding a visit to a war zone in the 90’s.  To tell you the truth, I’m fed up with it all!  Get to the main topics and forget this other stuff!

John McCain meanwhile, has been talking about the war effort, homeland security and foreign affairs.  Though, alittle weak on solutions on the economy, McCain is talking topics and staying away from the bickering.

Since CNN’s Lou Dobbs isn’t running for president, I guess I’ll keep listening to what McCain has to say and leave the bickering democrats alone for awhile.  (IF Lou Dobbs had been running, I WOULD be listening closer to what he had to say!)

Hello everyone,

Sorry it’s been awhile since I posted but things have really been wild.  First, let me say I’m sorry that my podcast has not started.  Some technical things came up but I’m shooting for an April 1 start date.  Now on to some pressing items!

Alot has happened in the Presidential race since we last addressed it here.  John McCain has wrapped up the Republican nomination and now we wait…and wait…for Hillary and Obama to finish up.  And has the words heated up between them!  If I may suggest, let’s just get it done!  Flip a coin and the winner takes all!  (Just don’t get the coin from Bill…might be two headed!)

I mean enough is more  than enough!  Americans are more interested in how high gas/diesel prices are going to be when vacation time comes around and if we will be financially able to take a vacation this year!  If I have to go to the bank to get a loan to take a vacation and pay for gas  FORGET IT!  And when do we get the stimulus checks?  Crap, by the time we get those, gasoline will be over $4.00 a gallon and Americans won’t be able to stimulate the economy, we’ll just be forking it over to pay for gas and milk and everything else we need!

So, where do the Presidential Candidates stand on all of this?  Who knows?  Anyone?

Hello Everyone,

I have heard from hundreds of listeners regarding the ‘downsizing’ of the Truckin’ Overnight Radio Show on WXCC radio.  I appreciate the support and I am still hoping the show will return to a length similiar to the original.

This decision was not mine.  It was deemed necessary by station management for an unspecified time.  I am currently doing other things at the company and Truckin’ Overnight now airs at 10:00pm-2:00am.

In light of the show being shorten, I have been forced to cut back on the number of requests I can take.  Again, I am hoping the show will be back to a length similiar to the original soon.

I will begin airing an informational show on this website The Truckin’ Overnight Information Network will begin February 25th.  Content will include Trucking Industry news, National Weather summary, Interviews, Duh File, Audio Blog and more!  The Truckin’ Overnight Information Network will be a production of TSG Productions.

It’s time to update you on the show.  I know alot of you are disappointed that the show has been shortened on WXCC.  Trust me, I have read every email that has come into this forum and I thank you for your support.  I am hoping that the show will return to a length similar to the original.

I would like to congratulate WXCC on increasing their coverage with 100,000 watts.  More listeners to a great station!

Acouple of more things…I have had alot of people call in on the show and ask if they could mail in pictures of their trucks because they don’t have computer access.  I’m now pleased to announce that the answer is YES!  You may mail items for the show and for this website to:  Truckin’ Overnight  PO Box 981 Elkhorn City, KY 41522-0981.  Also, I am starting a information/news show on this website.  The Truckin’ Overnight Information Network will begin it’s online webcasting in February.  Check back on this blog for the exact date!

Hello Everyone,

Well the wind is really picking up across the nation this week.  That’s not a weather report but a political report.  The presidential candidates are going at each other (but what’s new about that), and many of the state’s legislatures are in session too, thus the extreme windy conditions.

In Kentucky, a new governor has been sworn in and I BET it won’t be long before casino gambling will be introduced as a way to save the commonwealth from financial disaster!  BULL!!  Remember when Kentucky lawmakers passed the lottery?  That was supposed to help raise money for senior citizens programs and education.

Where’s the money from that?  Senior Citizens programs across the state are trimming staff and cutting days that senior citizens centers are open.  And suddenly, education is in financial trouble again!  Maybe if teachers weren’t given salary increases so often…oh that’s sticking my feet in it.

I’m not saying teachers should not get raises but the question remains, Where’s the money from the lottery?  The issue of money and where it comes from is a problem facing nearly every state in the union. 

I urge you to stay informed regarding your states’ legislature or law making body.  Keep up on what’s being discussed and bills being introduced.  You may end up paying for it in the long run so keep informed and speak your piece!

Now, with the presidential candidates….what more can be said but they keep on talking and not telling us anything!  But, what’s new about that?  Just hunker down folks, I got a feeling we’ve only just begun to feel and hear the wind from those folks!

Hello Everyone.

Well the holidays are over and it’s time to get started with 2008.  But do we really have to?

Look what’s going to be facing us this year, a Presidential Election!  Umm, let me see now, we’ve only been hearing about this election for 3 1/2 years!  Can’t these politicians get it through their heads, they would do alot better if they wouldn’t start campaigning until, lets say, a year before the election?

Like alot of other Americans, I’m sick and tired of this election!  Lets face it folks, I really don’t give a crap what Hillary had for breakfast or what McCain said about Hillary’s breakfast.

The political arena in America today sickens so many people that they just give up watching the news or (sadly) voting.  I just wish that the media would give us substance instead of fluff.  I want to know where these candidates stand on the issues facing America and that’s the information that is lacking in the reporting.

Let me say right here and now, I’m going to vote.  I urge you to vote. But where are we going to find out where the politicians stand on the issues important to us?  When you find out, let me know too!
